Linda's Story

Linda remembers the unique way she learned about neurostimulation. “My sister was taking care of some business in a courtroom where a man was explaining neurostimulation to a judge,” she says. Linda was excited to hear about the therapy. She’d been in pain for years by then and was willing to do anything to get relief.

“I was living on pain medications,” she recalls. “I could hardly walk. I couldn’t sit.” Linda’s inability to do simple things was the result of severe pain in her legs and back. Although doctors gave her several different pain treatments, she sometimes hurt so bad that she would go to the emergency room to get relief. She says that changed when she tried neurostimulation.

“It immediately helped me,” she says. “It sort of feels like a tingling inside my legs. It’s wonderful.” Linda decided to get a permanent neurostimulation system implanted, and since then has been able to get around much better. She not only walks, she sometimes strolls with her grandchildren to a town 1½ miles from her home. She can even tolerate sitting for long periods and can ride her bicycle.

“Neurostimulation has made me go from being almost crippled to having an active life. It’s one of the best things I’ve found for pain.” In fact, she says the therapy “saved my life.” Now nearly pain-free and off her medications, Linda highly recommends neurostimulation to others with chronic pain.
